North Carolina has the following additional incentives:
- Commercial installations receive a 35% tax
credit up to $2,500,000
- Individuals receive a 35% tax credit
between $1,400 - $10,500 as follows:
A maximum of $3,500 for residential active
space heating, combined active space
and domestic water-heating
systems, and passive space heating.
A maximum of $1,400 for residential solar
water-heating systems, including solar
pool-heating systems.
A maximum of $10,500 for photovoltaic (solar
electric), wind, or other renewable-energy systems
for residential use.
- NC GreenPower Production Credit:
receive approximately $0.18/kWh from the program,
plus approximately $0.04/kWh from the utility
under the power-purchase agreement, for a total
production payment of approximately $0.22/kWh.)

Solar Heating and Cooling tax credit of 25% for
Commercial and Residential systems, includes Solar Water Heating, Solar
Space Heat, Solar Cooling (maximum incentive of $3,500, or 50% of
taxpayer's tax liability for that taxable year, whichever is less)
