The Sunny Boy has an efficiency of 93%. The advantages of modular system
technology, modules only connected in series, no series diodes, etc,
increase the overall efficiency by a further 1 to 3 % as compared with other
PV grid inverters.
Highest Safety
Personal protection and plant safety are very
important aims at SMA. Therefore the Sunny Boy includes galvanic separation,
insulation monitoring, over voltage protection, as well as being CE
marked.
Trend-Setting Technology
With its module-oriented system technology,
sine wave output , two-processor technology, and integrated single-phase
mains monitoring complying with the latest VDEW & G59/1 regulations, the
Sunny Boy sets the standards for a new era of coupling PV plants to the
mains.
Over voltage Protection
Thermally supervised varistors are integrated
in the inverter on the PV input side. Responses from the thermal supervision
are indicated and can be displayed on a PC via Sunny Data software.

High reliability and a life of more than 20
years were systematically taken into consideration during the development.
Design Reserves
The power unit and heat sink are dimensioned
generously so that the nominal power can always be supplied to the mains,
even under high ambient temperature conditions.
Flexible
You can connect 6, 8, or 10 modules to the
Sunny Boy, just as you like.
Simple lnstallation
The modules are simply connected in series and
then to the Sunny Boy. PV distribution boxes are omitted, which leads to
reduced material and installation costs.
Installable Anywhere
With an environmental Index of Protection of
IP65 and an extended temperature range it is possible to install the Sunny
Boy virtually anywhere (on the PV frame, on the roof, on a wall, etc.). |
