STABER Energy Efficient Washing Machines
|
Benefits
for Consumers Using Solar Power
The
Staber System 2000 gives alternative energy users the most efficient
washer available for handling their laundry needs. The System 2000 runs
very efficiently, operating on only 110–150 watt-hours of electricity
per wash load. It uses about 4-5 amps during the wash cycle, and surges to
about 7 amps when the motor starts.
Unlike
other washing machine manufacturers, the warranty is not voided when used
on a solar power source. This, while using an average of only 15 gallons
of water per load make the System 2000 the most energy efficient washer
available and the best choice for consumers living "on or
off-grid."

When
it washes, the tub rotates in one direction at about 40 RPM for 15
seconds, pauses for 3 seconds, rotates the other direction (to keep your
laundry from tangling), and so on. You have immediate access to the inner
tub while it is washing if you forgot a pair of socks. The tub is locked
while in the spin cycle. At the end of the spin cycle, the tub rotates in
both directions (like in the wash cycle) to 'fluff' the laundry. Finally,
the tub rotates to the top. You have one wash and two rinses; you also
have the option to use a 'pre-wash' which is just a 5-minute wash before
the regular wash cycle and can be used to loosen the soil in extra dirty
loads.
The
Staber System 2000 is a top loading tumble action washer that
offers savings of up to $340 or more each year compared to traditional
agitator washers simply by using less resources.

Currently you may be spending over $600 annually to operate
your washer if you are doing around 8 loads per week.
-
Therefore, if you invest in a Staber washer now, it will provide you
a return of around $340 each year for the rest of its life. (This
does not include the savings in reducing your drying time, and the
time saved in having to possibly do fewer loads.)
-
This gives you close to a 30% return on your investment every year
you own it.
